canadiancarpin.com —  "We can promise at CCH, that what you see, is what you get!" Paul, your host and guide is fully licensed guide and has been carp fishing for 36 years now and has 22 years experience on the St. Lawrence River system. Originating from England, Paul like many other Brits developed and intense interest in carp fishing at a very young age. Paul has numerous astounding British and Canadian catches to his name having fished all over Europe Paul wanted to try his luck at a virtually unexplored carp fishing location in Canada. Once discovering for himself the amazing St. Lawrence River Paul could not leave, and after years of fishing this system Paul has acquired priceless knowledge of the river and it's fishing trends. One example of why Paul was so drawn to this river is the outcome of an amazing ten day session experienced by him and one other angler, producing six ton of carp to 50 lb+. Paul has landed over 30-40s from the St. Lawrence River over the years Now Paul's knowledge serves to greatly benefit each and every angler who ventures with Canadian Carpin Holidays. Paul Hunt Lisa, your hostess will assure that your stay with us at River Island Manor is a most enjoyable and comfortable experience. You will enjoy scrumptious home-cooked evening meals prepared by Lisa, followed by delectable desserts all to be enjoyed upon your arrival from a great days fishing! Upon request, Lisa will gladly prepare any alternative meals for guests such as vegetarian, diabetic or children's tea. Non fishing guests need not worry, Lisa will be pleased to advise and arrange alternative excursions and activities for all landlubbers while the others fish. Lisa shares in the passion of carp fishing and has numerous catches to her credit.  "I have always had a deep appreciation for nature and love days spent carp fishing on the spectacular St. Lawrence river Lisa Hunt

carpandcats.com — NEW FOR THE 2012 SEASON - SWIMMING POOL Someone once said ‘Good things come to those who bait…’ Well for us, we must have baited well because Lynsey and I have packed up in England and moved to this fantastic green and tranquil oasis that we have christened Carp and Cats. The suit has been replaced by rubber waders, and the stilettos (Lynsey’s – not mine) went on eBay. This place is a far cry from my boyhood days fishing in the UK. Here the sky is blue, the water is crystal clear, we have more than our fair share of sunshine and some cracking big fish. The only thing that hasn't changed is my passion for angling. Which is why it gives us so much pleasure to invite you to this amazingly, beautiful spot where we have created a one-of-a-kind exclusive fishing lake with amenities to suit not just the keen angler, but the entire family. We extend a very warm welcome to you and look forward to seeing you here for a little fishing in France.

Its all about Carp Fishing
The Common carp and the mirror carp are both named Cyprinus carpio. Yes The fish we all seek to catch and study are born of the species of freshwater fish of the family Cyprinidae (roach, rudd),a very large group of fish that are native to Europe and Asia which can now can be found in abundance in both the USA Currently (Where they are considered such a pest that Recently Thirty-one members of Congress directed the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers last Friday (03/02/2012) to consider a multi-billion-dollar plan for cutting a Chicago-area water ways link between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River to stop the continued migration of the Asian carp !

It is true also that in Australia and Germany the Cyprinus carpio is by law subject to death if caught .

The cypriniformes (family Cyprinidae) are traditionally grouped with the Characiformes, these groups have certain common features, such as being found predominantly in fresh water. Plus in anatomical structure. Interestingly the most anterior bony pair is in contact with the extension of the labyrinth and the posterior with the swim bladder. Thought this function is poorly understood, the transmission of vibrations from the swim bladder to the labyrinth and in the perception of sound, could explain why the Cyprinus carpio have such a great capacity for hearing and being far more aware of a carp anglers presents.

(Oh yes they know we are there !) Which is why A wise Carp Angler turns his carp alarms/buzzers off when retrieving his tackle from the water and approaches the waters edge with great stealth!

Be Carp rig wise due to the teeth on the inferior pharyngeal bones, Carp rigs can at times get bittern off resulting in a False bite indication lost carp. When this happens it is wise to use what are called a frightener just up the line from the hook about 3" is often enough to avoid this .

Several species of carp can and do live in brackish water. Take the tidal river Thames for instance where it is documented that the river carp can and do travel a cross a wide geographical area from as far up the River Thames as the Thames Valley , and as far down as  the Thames Estuary . Some carp anglers consider the carp family some of the most cautious of all fresh water sport fish that appear to be able with regular frequency avoid capture on rod and line.

(monofiliment line) like Gardener Tackles T80 offers increased casting distance, better line lay and ultimate presentation as it lays flat on the lake bed. Or (braided lines such as (Arma Kordor) Cyprinus carpio can it would appear avoid even the invisible types of specialist carp fishing lines such as ( IQ Fluorocarbon from korda.co.uk. Product code KIQ10 - 10lb / 20m spool )

All and I repeat all of the following members of Family Cyprinus carpio (common carp), Carassius carassius (Crucian carp), Ctenopharyngodon idella (grass carp), Hypophthalmichthys molitrix (silver carp), Are truly aware and wise adversaries .

Although for centuries Carp have been an important food to humans, the domesticated common carp variety known as koi carp are now also a valued sport fish as can be seen from the extensive stocking of  koi carp at the anglers paradise fishing complex As a result, carp have been introduced as sport fish to various locations across the globe.
